Caleb’s Eye Sight…New Direction For The Brown Family

Caleb's Dad ~ 24th February 2011

Some new updates.  Caleb did great with daddy-time therapy tonight.  I am trying hard to teach him colors.  He is having a hard time with that. He is learning how to walk backwards, jump, and pick up heavy objects and raise them over his head. He is tracking with his eyes further to the left which I am VERY excited about.  I can see him strain when his eyes get to a certain point.  But we have to keep working on it.

I will no longer be preaching as of this Sun. in order to give my full attention to Caleb’s therapy and to family. Our decision was one that was made after many weeks of praying, seeking God’s guidance, and seeking the wisdom of others. As such Tiffany and I came to the conclusion that we needed to be plugged in somewhere where we could mutually have other families to help us and others who have gone through similar things that we have experienced, plus Tiffany and I feel the need for wise counsel for ourselves (dealing with the emotions that have come from Caleb’s injury), as well as we need to get Colby some help for things he is dealing with. After expressing these concerns with the elders we by mutual agreement decided that it was best for my family to step down from the position to let God direct and guide what and where our focus should be next.

We will soon be approaching a publisher for the book.  As I have been seeking God’s guidance there have been a number of doors that have opened up recently that seems to be pointing in a particular direction.  While we don’t have enough yet to go on to say that it is a done deal, we certainly have a pathway ahead of us that we are going to pursue, that could lead to the book being published by a nationally known publisher. Over the next few weeks we will be approaching a nationally known editor who is affiliated with this publisher.

We ask that you continue to pray for our family, my work/ministry, the book, Colby’s heart, and most importantly Caleb’s continued progress.  The things to be focused on in prayer are his eye sight, his ability to have balance while moving and walking, and his ability to string more than one word together to create a sentence.  We are really working on getting him to say 2 and 3 word sentences.

Thank you so much for all your prayers and for your continued love of our family.  Blessings.

094Would you consider adding Caleb to your church and personal prayer lists? Also a fund has been set up to help offset Caleb's ongoing medical expenses and related costs. Thank you for your love and support! Donations via PayPal can be made by clicking here:

So glad to hear that Caleb is doing better. I continue to pray for your family, and Calebs recovery. I told you earlier that I have a friend at church that might be able to help with the publishing, but I have not been able to talk to them yet. I pray that God will guide and direct you in your desicions, and that your family continues to be blessed. Caleb’s journey has touched my heart in a way that you can’t believe. I hope to one day meet you and your family, and I pray that Colbys little heart and fears are healed soon. May God continue to bless you my brother friend, and continue Calebs healing. Lots of love and prayers coming your way…..

Sounds like you are “letting go…and letting God.” That is where we all need to be. I know God will not let you down. God bless Caleb and ALL of your family.

Great to hear about the progress Caleb is making. I am so happy that you are able to take the time to concentrate on your family. That is wonderful. I know they need you just as much as you need them. I am always praying for you family. I am praying that God can take this awful pain away from Colby.

I am sure you have read The Praying Life. I am doing a bible study on it right now. I am having lots of duh! moments….If you haven’t read it maybe you should try to get a copy a give it a read. Very appropriate in the circumstances you are going through I think.

Can’t wait to read your book….I know it will be inspiring. Please let your family know I am praying for them and they are in my heart everyday and give those beautiful boys hugs for me!
    Much love to all
